Procedure for the Principles of Sustainable Development, Effective Resource Management and Emission Reduction
  1. Purpose of the Procedure
The purpose of this procedure is to implement sustainable practices in the LEGAL PARTNER law firm (the ” Law Firm “) in accordance with the principles of the EMAS system, without the need for formal certification. The procedure is aimed at minimizing the negative impact on the environment and promoting sustainable development in the Law Firm’s activities.
  1. Scope
The procedure covers all aspects of the Law Firm’s operations, including document management, energy consumption, transport, waste management, cooperation with suppliers and employee education.
  1. Responsibility
  • Managing Partner of the Law Firm : Responsible for the implementation of the procedure, its supervision and regular reviews and updates.
  • Employees of the Law Firm : Obliged to comply with the procedure and actively participate in pro-ecological activities.
  1. Activities and Requirements
4.1 Compliance with EMAS without certification
  • Principles : The Law Firm undertakes to regularly monitor the consumption of resources and implement pro-ecological activities in accordance with the guidelines of the EMAS system, despite the lack of formal certification.
  • Monitoring : Regular reporting of energy, water and other resource consumption and analysis of the effectiveness of these activities.
4.2 Minimizing paper consumption
  • Working on laptops : All office work is carried out exclusively on laptops. Printing is only allowed in exceptional cases, in accordance with design requirements.
  • Printer outsourcing : The law firm uses outsourced printers that allow you to monitor the number of color and black and white prints to control paper consumption.
4.3 Energy saving
  • Remote work : The firm promotes remote work to reduce office energy consumption and emissions associated with commuting.
  • Minimizing business trips : Whenever possible, the Law Firm limits business trips in favor of online meetings.
4.4 Continuous improvement of ecological activities
  • Monthly monitoring and verification : Every month, the Law Firm monitors and verifies the costs of used utilities and resources to analyze their effectiveness and minimize the carbon footprint and environmental costs.
4.5 Digital document management
  • Documentation : The law firm stores and shares documents in paper and digital form using secured cloud platforms. Storing paper documentation only applies to procedural files (to the extent that it is not possible to archive them in electronic form, so where the regulations allow documents to be archived in electronic form) stored until they are transferred to the Client.
  • Cloud computing : to a large extent, the Law Firm stores and shares information and analyzes in digital form, using secured cloud platforms.
  • Electronic Signatures : All documents are approved electronically, minimizing paper consumption.
4.6 Effective energy management
  • Energy Monitoring : Regularly monitor your office energy consumption.
  • Energy-saving lighting : Use of energy-saving lighting and low-power laptops.
4.7 Waste minimization
  • Segregation and recycling : The office applies the principles of waste minimization, in accordance with the locally applicable principles of segregation and preparation for recycling. Harmful resources (e.g. batteries) are disposed of in accordance with environmental protection principles.
4.8 Sustainable transport
  • Promoting low-emission modes of transport : Employees are encouraged to commute to work by bicycle or public transport.
  • Online Meetings : More than 90% of the time, meetings are held online. If a live meeting is necessary, public or rail transport is preferred.
4.9 Education and raising ecological awareness
  • High awareness : The employees of the Law Firm have high ecological awareness, acquired on the basis of projects related to the green transformation and ESG.
  • Educational meetings : As part of cooperation with clients, meetings presenting the ecological practices of the Law Firm or the project may be organized.
4.10 Green purchasing and supplier management
  • Preferences for ecological suppliers : The law firm prefers suppliers offering products and services consistent with the principles of sustainable development.
  • Purchase confirmations : As part of the project, the Law Firm collects confirmations of purchases of ecological products.
4.11 Organization of the Office’s work, cooperation and involvement of the local community
  • Remote work and sustainable transport : Part of the Office’s work is carried out remotely, and employees are encouraged to use ecological means of transport to work.
  1. Monitoring and Control
  • Monitoring system : The law firm is introducing a system for monitoring energy consumption, office supplies and waste generation.
  1. Review and Improvement
  • Continuous improvement : The procedure will be regularly reviewed and updated based on the results of monitoring and internal audits.
  • Implementation of innovations : The law firm will constantly introduce innovations that may contribute to further minimization of the impact on the environment.
  1. Final Provisions
  • The order enters into force : The procedure enters into force on the day of its approval. All employees are obliged to comply with it.
  • Changes and updates : Any changes to the procedure will be communicated well in advance and employees will be trained in the new guidelines.
